World Wide Tour 2014

Hello everyone thanks for stopping by....

What makes my creativity different from others........I don't feel my work stands out over any other creator. I enjoy so much the touch of the fabric, the colour combinations, and the oh so sweet sound of the sewing machines singing. Creating is just a pleasure.

Why do I create .....I like making all sorting of items. I can start with a small runner or a large quit top.  It so rewarding to see and heard the expressions from people whether they are a receiver or just admiring a creations. Oh, Yes! And the sharing of  ideas with friends and others.

How do I create ..........We'll, let me see. I guess I like to create with my hands and keeps my mind thinking. I don't mind the idea of taking on some projects without a pattern like the serger cover.

What I am working on........As you probably notice I haven't posted in quite some time but I have been busy. Last week Marjorie and I each finished a quilt top. We have a another project ready to go next week.  I have some quilts tops and some small projects ready for Tiara. There is always something on my mind and lots of projects to look forward to doing.

So a salute to all the creator out there........Enjoy and keep creating!

Now I know I was suppose to tag a couple of creators but I haven't been blogging much lately so maybe you could check out my side bar and explore some of the other great creators that I follow. Till next time.
Here's a few items I have been working on lately....
Here comes the spooky!

Is it Christmas?

Well with all the snow today it could be Christmas so I thought it would be only fitting to sew something for a Christmas gift.  A friend came today with her serger to get some help so once we got the serger working properly she sewed her project and  I continued mine.

I purchased this pattern from Crafty's. It's great to make a purchase and have it with minutes. So this tree shirt was very easy to do an fun to do. These colour are earthy tones a little different than the traditions Christmas colours but if fits the home it's going to.

I got my churn dash blocks sized and ready to start putting it together.

There are two more projects ready in baskets one for the first of March and one for next week so stay tune for some of my other projects that I have yet posted. Thanks for stopping and have a good day!

It's here!!

Don't let  the door stop you! I thought what can I do for this great hop.

Well I look at this panel that I purchased at one of the local fabric shop and thought well now what!

I didn't want to have something sitting on the floor all the time but would like something that to me would be unique so this is what I have created.

I made this colorful panel in to what my look like a wall hanging but I took a couple magnetic clips and hung it on the steel door. It hangs at the same level as the other draught stopper and gives you a nice winter scene to enjoy! If you let your imagination drift away, you can imagine snowshoeing in the great outdoors, sitting in the chair enjoying the scenery then entering the cozy cabin to enjoy a hot cup of tea.

Thanks to Madame Samm and Carla for all the cheerleading and their time for these hops.

Here is today's list stop by and visit everyone. Thanks for stopping by and having a peek!

Sewing So Much Fun.......

Especially with friends so when this hop came along I thought it would be great to include my sewing buddies.

First lets give a large applause to Carla and Madame Samm for all their time and creativity in putting this hop together. It will be exciting to see all the creative ideas that others have done.

Let's start with these creative fabrics from SHE WHO SEWS. I love buttons and tape measures. I have them all over my sewing room.

We make a lot of things to give away so this time I decided make something useful for my sewing room.
An over due cover for my serger who collects a little to much dust but was used in this project. Notice the brooch I choose to add to the cover. This has been in my jewellery collection for year so why have out to enjoy.

Now, here is where my sewing buddies fit into this picture. We gather weekly at each other homes to share ideas, helpful tips and also lots of laughs.

Therefore this Hexagon center piece  ( pattern for center piece by Atkinson Designs .....Merry Go Round...)
coasters and a tea cozy fits in just right for our craft night.

I bet this teapot could tell some stories. Shhhhhh......

Let the tea party begin!
Thanks for stopping by and visit all of the other creators in this hop!
Keep smiling and Keep Creating! Enjoy your visits............

Catching Up....The Project Basket

Do you have project basket, bags or boxes? I have more that one!

So my goal is to finish the UFO's(or should I say some) and yes probably start some more!

Here is one project that Marjorie  I started in Sept. for the 100 Club from the Fabric Cupboard.

This year was the Churn Dash. We decided that we would make the full size instead of the lap or tabletop size.

The colours are soft and soothing. We are now on the third month plus we have all of our extra block done.

Returning to Creating Fun

Well, it nice to be back in my most favourite room...the sewing room. I haven't disappeared, life just took a turn in another direction for awhile.....

In late May I had to say good bye to my Janome Memory Craft 8000.....which has been part of my creativity for 20+years. This had put me on a search for a new I found a used babylock quilter choice pro in excellent condition. It doesn't replace my embroidery machine but some day I will find the right machine for a replacement.(They are soooo expensive)

This is the first project that I accomplish on the new machine and is feels so good to be back sewing.

This pattern is call 5 & Dime a fat quarter quilt by All Washed Up. A very basic quilt to cut up, sew and finish but a lot of fun.

Ready to start

                                                                Finished top

I took the challenge of quilting a large piece on the Tiara and was very please with the results.

I have been working on a few more projects and our craft night is now back in full swing so will be posting some more project in the upcoming days.
We had a sewing Saturday in September with the girls and each of us had made a quilt top so will be posting pictures when I get them all together.
Until next time keep smiling and keep creating!

Finally I'm Sharing!

We it's about time I shared my new companion with everyone. I decided to called her Blossom because of her arrival in spring! I have enjoy learning all about her,the tension and how smooth she quilts. I have been doing lots of practicing and did my first pillow top for a trial run. Very please with the results. Now to get stocked up with thread for a couple of practice pieces to do to prepare for more challenging projects.
I like the table space as it take little effort to quilt and the long arm space is great!
This pillow top will be a wall hanging for my mom for Mother's Day for her room at the nursing home.

My Day is April 8th Today's the day!

I want to thank Erin  and Madame Samm for all the hard work in creating such a fun hop!

The day I join the hop my mind had already decided that the April Showers was going bring spring flowers and these are one of my most favorite kind. The colour I chose came from my granddaughter favorite one.

I took out the embroidery hoop for my sewing machine which I haven't used in a very long time. A tulip was unearthed with a colorful surrounding! A little free motion quilting and just in time for tea!

You can connect here for all the other wonderful creations for the hop. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your tour through the other creations.
