Finally I'm Sharing!

We it's about time I shared my new companion with everyone. I decided to called her Blossom because of her arrival in spring! I have enjoy learning all about her,the tension and how smooth she quilts. I have been doing lots of practicing and did my first pillow top for a trial run. Very please with the results. Now to get stocked up with thread for a couple of practice pieces to do to prepare for more challenging projects.
I like the table space as it take little effort to quilt and the long arm space is great!

This pillow top will be a wall hanging for my mom for Mother's Day for her room at the nursing home.

ENJOY YOU DAY AND KEEP CREATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

APRILS SHOWERS HAVE ARRIVED!

My Day is April 8th Today's the day!

I want to thank Erin  and Madame Samm for all the hard work in creating such a fun hop!

The day I join the hop my mind had already decided that the April Showers was going bring spring flowers and these are one of my most favorite kind. The colour I chose came from my granddaughter favorite one.

I took out the embroidery hoop for my sewing machine which I haven't used in a very long time. A tulip was unearthed with a colorful surrounding! A little free motion quilting and just in time for tea!

You can connect here for all the other wonderful creations for the hop. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your tour through the other creations.

I'm still having fun!!!!!!

Well thought it was time to update some of the projects that I have been working on in the last month or so. I haven't been posting as I should have been, other matters have taken my attention so I'm going to make up for lost time in one post. So glad the month of March is behind us and April Showers will be bringing the May flowers.

I have put together some more runners to have on hand for gifts and showers. These were just make up with some scraps, left over from some of the kits that I had gotten from Connecting Threads. Just love shopping there!

We had a Sew-in day at my house with our evening Stitch and Gossip gathering and it was also International Quilting Day so was just fitting that we sew! We all did the same pattern either in a pillow or a runner.  Everyone had a great day! Here are some of the pictures for our day.

Marjorie and Judy placing the pieces just right

                                         Marla working so seriously......................

Rose enjoying the sun and sewing up a
storm or I should say a pillow

                                         Judy's  creative runner...........

                               Marjorie appliquing her creation......................

Here is my creations for the fun day with the girls. We had lots of laughs and will be sharing this day for a long time!

On our weekly afternoon get together with Marjorie and Marla  did some new adventures in the sewing world.

This picture was done with  flannel and some fun appliqueing. It was fun to do and was a great project to do in the afternoons. Christmas gift or not, a decision to make later. See the theme here we were trying our best to bring spring sooner!

We also did the the New York Roundabout Again, pattern by Sew Karen-Ly Created. Drop by Karen's site and enjoy all her creations. Maybe even order a pattern or two! I so glad that I tried the challenge and will be trying some more of these patterns. The fabric was purchased at one of my favorite fabric stores in Amherst N.S at Dayle's. Just some free motion quilting and binding to complete. I'm keeping this one for myself!

Well another busy month or so has gone by so lets wait and see what I can created for my next posting. The only problem the nice weather and all this fresh air will be competing with the sewing room.

Till next time
Keep Smiling and Keep Creating!

February 2013 NEWFO Challenge

Well another month as cruised by and the weather hasn't been very cooperative for outside activities so the sewing room was my favorite hang out.

This month there was lots of snowstorms therefore it seemed only fitting to sew creations that had a winter theme.

There no better way to make a snowman that with mittens. This wall hanging was a kit that I had purchased, lets just say many many moons ago.

A saying that we have in our Stitch and Gossip weekly get together "What talked about here stays here"(lol) so  this creations seems do fitting. Just the binding left to do.

I DO NOT SEE     I DO NOT HEAR   I DO NOT TELL!                                                                       We have many, many laughs and enjoyed our creations.

This table topper is a Connecting Thread kit that Marjorie and I had done together. It was fun to do I had a learned to make different cuts and joining everything together for an amazing finish. Now just the FMO and binding.

This one was also fun to so and will be ready for display for Christmass. These both need some FMQ and binding so another snowy weekend arriving so off to the sewing room.

Thanks again to Barb  for hosting and looking forward to seeing all the other creations.

TILL MARCH KEEP SMILING AND KEEP CREATING!

A New Creation

Yesterday was a fun filled day. My friend and I got out for a nice walk in the warm sunshine and seen a female eagle who followed us along our journey.

In the afternoon Marla and Marjorie  arrive and together and we created a pin cushion. They had found the cathedral window pattern at Kim's Blog tutorial.  It was very fun to do and gave us a new challenge. A great day!

Storm Days Mittens and Snowman

Well another storm behind us and another week of creating. What would one make in a snow storm how about a snowman and mittens.

These are a couple kits that I had for ................well everyone knows how long, we all have many of those projects so this storm just seem fitting that they should get started.

All I have to do to finish these is to do some FMQ and binding.
I just couldn't put a face to the snowman just yet. I didn't want him see the how many friends could be make with all that snow.

Here is a table topper that Marjorie and I worked on this week and  is ready for FMQ and binding. I do believe that I'm going to have to stop creating and finish all of these projects.

This Wednedsay was a another get sewing day for the girls. Rose  and Judy worked on their Valentine table topper. Our other side kick Marla is still vacationing but I sure she will be fully recharge to catch up sometime this week.

Margie and I had started another project from one of the Connecting Thread kits. Here is a little peek for the upcoming creations. Yes another christmas but it will be great to take out in a few months.

Till next time

January's 2013 NewFO Challenge

I decided to join Cat Patches in this challenge to get myself motivate to get lot of projects done for 2013. Objective number two is to have lots of my Christmas gifts make and wrapped. Wish me luck.

I decided to do a couple of kits that I had purchased from Connecting Threads (actually two of many kits). All there is to completing these projects is the FMQ and the binding.

                                                         Christmas Tree Skirt

                                                             Christmas Table Topper

There's a couple days a week that some friends get together for some stitching and here's is some of the projects made from these gatherings. We have lots of laughs, share ideas along with techniques that we have learn over the years and yes we will sometimes make the same projects.

Ready to stitch so a hot cup of tea, an
evening tv show will finished these mini runners

With this runner the snowballs just fell out of the sky
                                                                   and make this funfilled snowman

Here is a couple creations that were make with wool flannel and appliqued. These are fun to do and great afternoon project.

I Did It!

The Last Day of Beautiful Creations.......................

First time for a blog hop and I did it! I would like to thank  Madamme Samm and Christine for  sharing this opportunity. I have enjoyed seeing  the beautiful creations along the way. The only way I could describe these creations was WOW!

I have never made a Dresden before so with a borrowed ruler from Marjorie and a couple tutorials the challenge was on. So here we go........................................

The choosing of the fabric and seeing the end results has even had me surprised with the end results.

I  have learned lots of things along the way from cutting out with the ruler, to making the petals and piecing it all together.

Looks like the tail of a kite. I love kites.

                                                 All pinned together

                                                                  All nicely pressed

Once I had the Dresden's done what  should I create with them.
I decide on a table runner for Christmas.  I added a small amount of FMQ around the Dresden's and the border.

                                                       Finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again thanks to everyone for sharing and may the more beautiful creations become part of all of our lives.

Here's are the other beautiful creations ....................enjoy!
